Alessandro Menotti has dedicated nearly his whole career to research in cardiovascular epidemiology, working in 9 different countries and participating, also with high responsibilities, to a number of multicentre national and international studies, including the WHO Multifactor Preventive Trial of Coronary Heart Disease, the WHO MONICA Project, the WHO ERICA Project and mainly the Seven Countries Study of Cardiovascular Diseases.
Has published over 350 papers in the international literature, about the same number in the Italian literature, and 7 books (5 in Italy,1 in the Netherlands, 1 in the USA).
He is presently is Research Director and Vice-President of the Association for Cardiac Research in Rome.
