As chief medical officer of ACAP Health Consulting, Dr. Tim Church guides the company in creating clinical strategies and disease-specific battle plans that reduce how much disease we produce and lower the financial burden for treating disease. He is also an adjunct professor of preventative medicine at Pennington Biomedical Research Center at Louisiana State University, where he helps promote healthy living through research and education in nutrition and exercise biology.

Dr. Church has written more than 250 research articles and received numerous awards for his preventative health research. He is also co-author of, “Move Yourself, The Cooper Clinic Medical Director’s Guide to All Healing Benefits of Exercise (Even a Little!)”, considered a groundbreaking guide on how simple activity can help prevent major diseases and obesity.

Dr. Church has served as an expert advocate for preventative health in news stories by: The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, NBC’s Today Show, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Reuters, The Washington Post, Consumer Reports, Vogue, Prevention, Time, CNN and more. 

As a consultant to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee, Dr. Church contributed to their national report published in 2008. Dr. Church was also an invited speaker at the United States Congress, Committee on Government Reform: Diet, Physical Activity and Dietary Supplements: The Scientific Basis for Improving Health, Saving Money and Preserving Personal Choice.

Dr. Church earned his M.D. and Ph.D. at Tulane University School of Medicine and is the former Vice President of Medical and Laboratory Research at The Cooper Institute in Dallas, known as an international leader in some of the most comprehensive studies on human performance and disease prevention.
