Dr. Williams is Research Assistant Professor in the Department for Medical Social Sciences, Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health in the UK.  His research focuses on how public health policy can help to regulate the rapid increase in the consumption of unhealthy products, including soft drinks and tobacco.  Recently, he has studied the growth of the soft drink industry in low-and-middle-income countries, and, along with Professor Marion Nestle, he has co-edited a special issue and forthcoming book on this topic.
