Priya Fielding-Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Studies at the University of Utah. She completed her PhD in Sociology and postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention from Stanford University. Her research is focused on identifying mechanisms underlying the reproduction of health inequities in America. In particular, she brings a sociological lens to examining the structural and social determinants of nutritional inequality, and disparities in diet and diet-related disease across race and class. Her research and writing have been featured in the Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Harvard Business Review.
