Dr. Ari Levy is in the business of helping people live better in ways that are both meaningful and measurable.

He is the founder and CEO of SHIFT, an interdisciplinary and patient-centric healthcare model that delivers customized medical services, education, and behavioral support to effect lasting health improvements. SHIFT not only gathers clinical data about individuals, but also understands their social determinants of health. This approach provides insight into what drives and constrains their actions.

Focused on the intersections of neuroscience, immune-physiology and allostatic load (wear and tear on the body), Dr. Levy’s work and research are redefining the way we think about managing and building health and personal well-being. Sustainable change to one’s health is within reach if the right structure and plan are put in place.

Earlier in his career, as a physician, he redesigned a clinical practice and helped to build an offsite facility for the University of Chicago’s Program for Personalized Health & Prevention and served as a member of the physician team for the Chicago Blackhawks, including all three Stanley Cup winning seasons. Before SHIFT, he co-founded Engaged Health Solutions, a health and wellness company serving clients in a wide range of industries.

Dr. Levy has become a trusted voice, in the Board room as well as publicly, on health and performance topics. Whether working in confidence, one-on-one, with executives to help them parse out specific issues they are dealing with or presenting at conferences or townhalls on an array of human resource topics, Ari’s style is empathetic and practical. His professional focus is on guiding individuals to building lasting habits to achieve personal health and optimal performance, as well as on workplace wellness.

Dr. Levy earned his undergraduate degree in History and Sociology from Emory University, his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Strategy and Entrepreneurship.

Caring for others is part of Dr. Levy’s DNA and extends to a commitment to his employees and the communities he serves. He is actively involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors and gives back with both his time and resources.

Dr. Levy lives in Chicago with his wife, Alicia, and two children, Gabrielle and Ben, and their goldendoodle, Harry.
