Andrzej Mariusz Fal graduated from the Medical University in Wrocław in 1988, and from the University of Economics in 1996. He is board licensed in allergy, internal medicine and public health. He did his post-doc at Johns’ Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA (1997-1999). He has also been trained at National Heart and Lung Institute in London (1990), UK and at the Hospital in Vesteras & University of Lund (2003), Sweden.
Prof. Fal is currently head of the Department of Allergy, Lung Diseases and Internal Diseases, National Institute of Medicine, Ministry of Interior in Warsaw, professor at the Department of Public Health, Wroclaw Medical University and the of Collegium Medicum at Cardinal Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw. He served as a Dean of Collegium Medicum at Cardinal Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw in the past term. Prof. Fal published over 350 papers on allergy, pulmonology, public health (IF >300, H 17) and promoted thirteen PhD’s. He is the editor in chief of three handbooks: two in the field of allergy one in public health. He is the founder and Editor in Chief of “Public Health Forum”. He is also a member of several other scientific boards of Polish and international journals.
Prof. Fal is a member of the Main Council for Science and Higher Education, Board of Directors of the GLIMMER Initiative (American College of Lifestyle Medicine). On behalf of the Polish Ministry of Science Dr. Fal was a member of the Board of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission. He also chaired the Europe and CIS Committee of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology for three terms and served at the European Medicinal Agency of the Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT).
Since November 2014 he is President of the Polish Society of Public Health.
