Stephen Penman

Stephen Penman is Executive Director of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM), a not-for-profit organization advocating for Lifestyle Medicine and providing representation, education, training and support for doctors, allied health practitioners, public health professionals, researchers and educators in the practice of Lifestyle Medicine.

Stephen is also Executive Director of the Lifestyle Medicine Foundation, a health promotion charity in Australia, established to develop, conduct, promote and support initiatives that reduce the incidence and progression of preventable, chronic and lifestyle-related conditions.

He is also the founder of Open Health, a social enterprise to develop, trial and launch a world-first online comprehensive lifestyle change intervention available to practitioners and their patients, also to the general public and the corporate sector for both chronic disease management and health and well-being.  Concurrently, he is a PhD Candidate at Western Sydney University conducting research underpinning this initiative.

Previously, Stephen was CEO of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM), a peak body and medical college providing advocacy, representation and postgraduate education for doctors and allied health practitioners in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine.

Prior to that, Stephen was the inaugural Course Co-ordinator of ‘Wellness, Health Enhancement and Lifestyle Management’, an online subject delivered both as an undergraduate elective and as a core unit in the Master of Wellness at RMIT University.
